I Need to Apologize
please forgive
It never hurts to say you are sorry! I’ve neglected my subscribers, especially the new folks who came to my “stack” via a recommendation from T.L. Davis. I realized I have not posted anything since January 8th, and maybe I owe folks an explanation. I would also like to express my thanks to T.L. for continuing to recommend my writing. In many cases, you get a glimpse into the soul of a writer through their literary effort. This couldn’t be truer than it is for T.L. and his efforts to wake up citizens of this Republic we call the United States! We are truly at the edge of a great precipice, and will lose everything without that realization.
The quote, “These are the times that try men’s souls,” is the opening line from the first of Thomas Paine‘s series of pamphlets, The American Crisis, written in 1776 during the American Revolution. The phrase was intended to inspire and encourage the Continental Army, which was suffering from defeats, low morale, and expiring enlistments, to persevere in their struggle for freedom.
The quote is as applicable today as it was in 1776! Unfortunately, I am one of the individuals who really takes the quote and its inference seriously. That seriousness became the crux of the issue for me. I needed a break. I needed time to ponder the situation and decide my next moves. My soul was tried and tired.
Thanks again for the opportunity to touch you through my written word. I’m back.
“It is our attitude toward events, not events themselves, which we can control. Nothing is by its own nature calamitous – even death is terrible only if we fear it.” —Epictetus

Thank you
Thanks. We all need to be resolute in our convictions.
